Robert Warren Ford

Was born on 19 AUG 2008 at 1737.  He weighed 6 lbs 3.4 oz and was 19.5" long.  We are so excited for him to finally be here.  The whole labor thing went fairly well.  Except for the whole I.V. thing.  The nurse that tried to start my I.V. first was new, and I don't think she knew what she was doing.  She missed twice, and the second time in my hand was awful.  She just kept going even after I yelled at her. AHHH  Another nurse got it in, but said it probably would stick, and that it would have be redone, but kept it in my arm, so therefore I have a HUGE bruise.  The third nurse, missed once but finally decided to use a smaller needle and got it in, on the 5th TRY!!!  I was furious by the end of that, and scared that the rest of the day was going to terribly wrong too!  I finally began active labor between 11oo and 12oo.  I did okay, that breathing that Mrs. Glover taught in the birthing class really helps.  Around 1600, I couldn't take the pain any longer and go the epidural.  After that I was just fine.  At this time I was dilated to a 5.  A little less than an hour later, I was feeling too much pressure down below, and my nurse came in and checked me and I was dilated to a 9 and almost ready to go.  About 15 minutes later the doctor came in and I pushed.  I pushed 3 times.  The first time he crowned, the second his head was out and the third his whole body was out.  It only took about 15 minutes for him to be born.  It was amazing.  I got to watch the whole thing through the reflection of the doctor's glasses.  And now here we are with a beautiful little boy!  We are so blessed to have such beautiful, healthy, wonderful little boys!!!
